I'm looking at a tentative shoot date of June 2-3. Each day should be relatively short and straightforward (unless you'd like to make it complicated). I'm shooting most of it on green screen so as long as you're comfortable with that, we'll be good to go. I have a story board artist, but don't want to waste that talent until I've filled the DP position. Also needed is the valuable position of Producer - I luv you so much if you will produce this short :) I'm also looking for crew that include boom-op, AD, gaffer, and PAs. I'm looking to raise a budget of around $1.8 million, but I think in actuality I'll have enough for pizza and soda so you won't go hungry. Both of these positions have had to pull out at the last minute and are both essential to our production. The plot focuses on how blind we can be to the truth of relationships. A 20-something couple talks about their lives and friends while being blind to how dysfunctional they truly are. We always have the answers but are afraid to follow our own guidance. Actress: 20's, any ethnicity, both photogenic and plain all at the same time, comfortable with having a rather loose script that has wiggle room for characterization, the character has lots of subtle moments where her actions and words contradict each other Sound Designer: Comfortable with sound design and recording audio externally from the camera, has their own equipment (ideal but not necessary) These positions are not for pay, but we should have a fantastic time on set. Food and drinks will be provided. I will send a copy of the script and some stills of the main setting to anyone interested Take care, David McLendon, Producer -- David McLendon dmclendon@gmail.com 912-481-1643 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I am an ametur actor and also an aspiring writer on psychology and philosophy as it relates to performance technique. When I am not workshopping at PushPush, I am working on several writings which integrate psychological studies performed by Daniel Gilbert (Harvard University) into a practical vocabulary for actors (you can google him to find his latest book Stumbling on Happiness, which gives a easy to follow representation of his ideas). I am especially interested in processes in which I can develop a common working vocabularly with other artists that can be relied upon for another project. My biggest struggle at present is finding a group of peers that I can work with continually as opposed to simply freelancing. I hope over the course of this year to make a meaningful connection with a least 3-4 artists that I can count on for support and collaboration on projects I self-produce (and vice versa). At the moment, the past couple of shows I've worked on have focused on the ability to create distinctive, imitatable roles and decompartmentalizing a character's language (what they say) from their actions (what they do). In some cases, I had to write my own character's dialogue or collaborate with a writer. This dialogue began with a play I worked on over the summer by Lisa d'Amour called Autospy and carried through Inspector General, an small improvised piece at another theater, and finally through Good Person of Szechwan. If anyone is working on a project that touches on these skills, I would love to talk with you further about our goals and processes. I hope you will come see the show and chat with us afterwards, I would love that!If you can't make it tonight, Casey Childers and I host a series of literary brunches on the works of Bertolt Brecht every Sunday from 11-1pm. We provide food and have casual discussions of his poems and short stories, focusing on different topic each week. This Sunday, May 13, we will discuss Brecht's performance asethetics. It should be a great discussion for artists and I hope you will attend. Again, I hope to cross paths with any of you!
